The Wife Strikes Again!
It had been such an exhausting search for this dream of ours. At this point I was so beat down with the whole process, I really was getting ready to call it quits all together. "We will just go back to our societal life, and be normal" I found myself thinking on the regular. I mean it was a crazy idea, and we knew it was going to be an uphill battle the whole way. After all everything that we were doing and wanted was really hatched just from an idea. No real proof that it was possible right now, just a want and an idea. I should know after fifteen years of being married, that giving up is something Callie doesn't do.
So when she proclaimed "I think I found it!" I was less than optimistic, because everything we had found so far could easily be washed away with our needs and reality. Needless to say I still looked at it, and was pretty positive we would find some reason why it wouldn't work. At first I wasn't too impressed, all of these properties start to look the same somewhere after satellite image one hundred.
I really couldn't believe it, as I went through the mental checklist of all the things we wanted this land to have. It actually was starting to seem like this truly was the one. It did take me a minute to get over the fact that there were no glorious rock formations, or raging rivers running through our lands. However, it truly seemed to have everything else we were looking for, on top of all of that the company that owned the land was willing to help clear the land as we needed. My heart was beating a million miles an hour as the land plot that we would hopefully own in the future was staring right back at me. My eyes got a little blurry and watery as I found myself just studying every inch of the map. Never in our lives had we had something this significant that was all ours. This was something our family did together, and completely by ourselves. Some might argue there are far better things we should spend our money on. Yet debts, bills, and life never go away. They will forever be knocking on our door, and we for once wanted to do something to secure our own future. Something that perhaps in the future might just be part of a bigger legacy. Bowman, GA here we come!
