Aint No Party Like a Bowman Party!

Something that really took me by surprise in starting this whole adventure, was the moment that we realized all of this was becoming about more than just opening up some shops. The square in Bowman used to be vibrant with life, and the center for all things social in and around the town. During the long work weeks, the folks in Bowman were hard working class families who spent their days in the textile factories, grain, feed plants, and various farms throughout the county. On the weekends, especially on Sundays, the town square came alive with music and dancing, children playing games of tag and kick the can, and a whole community that supported each other. All races and walks of life. This is what Bowman was about, and the square is where it all happened.

The train was not only a crucial aspect for life in Bowman, it was the reason Bowman truly even came to be. The building of the tracks along with the new local railroad companies being born, started a boom in Bowman that put it on the map. Sadly, basically every major world war that we have had, drained Bowman of a lot of good men who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Yet, that is the spirit of Bowman; when there is work to be done and help is needed, the people of Bowman always answered. So when this town got together every weekend and it was time to have fun; It truly was an entire community event.

The thought that we are now part of this rich history and even a speck in the spirit and life that surrounds the Bowman square for eternity is something that I will always cherish and use as even more motivation to do our part in it all.
