Professional Campers

For the past nine weekends we've been camping on Shady Acres. The rest of the family is pretty over it but I still find it fun! I grew up camping in girl scouts. I'm talking primitive camping...as in hiking in for miles (or seemed to be miles) to set up camp and spend the week, bathe in the river kind of camping. Two nights is easy-peasy. Now that the weather went from 95 to 65 like it saw a state trooper, that may change. I hate being cold!

For the past two months we've called this Yurt home for the weekends. Y'all, this is the best tent we've ever had, hands down. It's been set up for over two months now and still standing strong. We love it so much so that we bought a second one for the kids. This Mama is OVER sleeping on a cot! To make it more comfy and home like we're bringing a real bed down...my back will rejoice!

This weekend is operation move base camp. We're hoping to get our driveway and future home-site cleared soon so that we can finally get electricity out there. For that to happen, we're moving the camping to the larger plot of land. Once we have the future home-site  cleared with the field view we can think about getting a large shed out there from Back Home Structures and do space heaters to get us through the winter. Baby steps. It's turned into a much bigger project than we thought it would be, that's for sure. We have 2 years and 7 months (yes, I'm totally counting down) before we can move anyway so slow and steady are going to win this race.
